Everyone has something of a silly kid inside us. Sometimes it hides behind plans, adult’ considerations and worries, loans or a lot of work. And sometimes, it’s me – the child feels bold, puts on pranks in a great relationship with me – an adult.

My childhood

I like to walk barefoot on wet grass. Bathe in the sea and then roll in the sand on the beach. Leave the house without an umbrella so that you can feel the rain on your face. These are such small things that allow me to return for a moment to a carefree childhood. And since I became a mother, there are even more such moments – my children teach me carefree and mindfulness. Kids stop to see a bug on a wet road, they pick up a branch from the ground or notice a beautiful color of roses and smell the incredible smell of the flowers. In fact, children are the best to imitate in this – enjoy the day, live in a moment, be here with me now.

Let’s cherish this child inside you because being a child is not worth growing up.

Just because we can celebrate Children’s Day every year.

In the end, the June 1st is not reserved only for minors. Who agrees?

My memory of June 1st is ice cream, a pink cotton candy and a visit to the Zoo with my parents.

June 1st with my children

Today, in my own family, we already have our tradition, which very much resembles June 1st from my childhood. First of all, we spend this day with the whole family. Just after breakfast, we go to buy cotton candy and then to the carousel to the Town Park. Children can go on every attraction how many times they want – it’s their time after all, so they decide! The second part of the program is a visit for ice creams of course – Victoria loves strawberry and David lemon.

I do not know a child who would not wait impatiently for the beginning of June. Ok, maybe it’s not Christmas or birthday, but Children’s Day is the undisputed star attraction of the beginning of summer program. Beautiful weather, heat, ice cream, lots of attractions and gifts! What more could you want?
Recently, I wrote a lot, in the context of habits for raising well-adjusted kids, about giving and presents. I mentioned how kids actually require fewer things and far more meaningful experiences here. The emotions and memories are that kinds of gifts that are the most beautiful!
However, do not forget that games are a great excuse to build beautiful memories as well. I have prepared my subjective guide to the best presents for the feast of our little ones.

I guarantee that each of these proposals will be a hit!

Other examples of gifts for children of any ages:

  1. Lego/Duplo–I love the open possibilities of Lego and Duplo. My children enjoyed their Lego sets both to complete a kit and mostly to make up their own inventions.
  2. Schleich farm animals (+ a farm)These sturdy animals from Schleich are beautifully made and include details right down to the hooves on the horse’s feet. I would rather have a few of these high-quality farm animals and build a collection slowly.
  3. Schleich African (and other) animals– great for building vocabulary and to nurture the child’s interest in animals. These are the same great quality as the farm animals.
  4. Musical instruments– I love to have a variety of instruments to bang and shake. The Melissa & Doug music puzzle plays the same tune with different instruments.
  5. Peg puzzle– for toddlers. Look for puzzles with large knobs and fewer pieces to start with. Build up to 9 pieces with smaller pegs as their grasp refines.
  6. Layered puzzles– for increasing difficult try a layered puzzle like the animal puzzle.
  7. Composition puzzles– for those preschoolers that enjoy puzzles, look for more difficult composition puzzles.
  8. Booksread here my previous suggestions for book for different ages and here.

The best life experiences cost little to nothing.

Stay Outside – a simple reminder that heading outside is free and so much fun. Collect leaves, throw leaves, or simply jump in the leaves. Or head to the beach, the mountains or the lake. Outdoor play it is possible any time of year! Physical activity is vital for children to burn off energy, develop physically, and keep fit. Make sure that your kids have the proper clothing to play outside in any season. You’ll help to avoid them getting cold and possibly sick during the cooler months. You’ll also teach them that a good day outdoors can happen no matter the weather. You can encourage them to play outside with fun outdoor exploration, games, scavenger hunts, or even the classic hide and seek. Kids don’t need a fort or even a swing set to have fun outside (though they can be lots of fun!). Most of all they want interaction and can often create the best games themselves.
The best life experiences cost little to nothing, like a picnic in the park, blowing bubbles in the backyard, making chalk drawings on the sidewalk or tossing a football around, but they all have one thing in common: you do them together.

What kids really want on Children’s Day June 1 St. in life is quality time spent with their parents.

Happy Children’s Day everyone!
