Few days ago, Victoria finally celebrated her seventh birthday party!

It’s become a tradition in our family of hosting parties at home and on the actual day of the birthday rather than waiting for a weekend day to celebrate — it’s our way of keeping things small and intimate, and I always think it makes their birthday that much more special for them.

Due to Coronavirus restriction, we arrange a small family celebration this year with the closest family: only 4 of us, Grandparents and Vicky’s best friend- Belinda.

I always like to organize our children’s birthday parties around a simple theme — it makes it easier for me to come up with ideas for activities and decoration. Then, depending on the time I have, I prepare for the party. This year, I didn’t have much time at all, so I kept the preparation of the party to a minimum!

Victoria chooses for her birthday theme Mermaid this year, so we started with the choice of the cake. Of course, it was simple as we scrolled the Pinterest options and we’ve chosen this Mermaid cake:

Next, I picked up some colorful Mermaid party decorations and ordered Mermaid party kit which, in addition to all the cute tableware and accessories.

The decorations kept easy with Mermaid colors that were basically turquoise, silver and pink.

I’ve mentioned before how much I like party-kits — they make it so easy to decorate your table and throw a pretty party together at the last minute, which admittedly is always the case for me. Also, we had homemade bunting and balloons that we had been gifted by another friend’s previous birthday. I think it is so clever to think of how you can share, reuse, and repurpose decorations!

This is how the table looked like:

For another decor, I got the most beautiful flower bouquet from my neighbors’ garden. She just randomly cut a massive number of flowers from her garden and gave it to us! It was such a lovely gesture and made the table look pretty amazing! I have never felt such a wonderful and stunning roses’ smell! These roses are unique because they’re wild and she is really passionate about them. The color and smell of the bouquet made the special atmosphere for this celebration!

After blowing candles, singing and birthday wishes, time for opening gifts have arrived.

Mermaid crafts

Vicky got a Mermaids from TOTUM, delivered from the @Lillypop store.
Girls put the materials down cardboard figures, foam shapes, glitter glue, and some chenille strands. And started doing their own mermaids.
This was such a fun and fast craft project! Resulting in very simple and pretty invites, perfect for a birthday party activity!

After a dance session led by Vicky, we had one last activity – board game!

Kids put down on table 25 delightful baby bears Logic Plus Memo – it’s a game of memory and classification from HEADU. So much fun playing this memory game!
Thanks again to kids concept @Lillypop store for these lovely presents.

Our little Mermaid has always wanted a themed party, so she was beyond excited all day!
We really enjoyed making it happen too! Seven is such a big girl age, so an extra special day seemed right.

We hope you have a fun bee themed party if you try it. Please let me know!

I would like to thank my friend and great photographer Marli for these amazing photos she has done during the party.
