How to get 15 minutes’ break for a peaceful coffee only for you this summer?

Vacation is undoubtedly the longest carefree time during the year: it’s time to eat ice cream, to play and relax, a time of frivolous games and ripped knees.

I have been a mother for the last 10 years now- I support, cherish, educate, I do everything in my power to make my kids’ childhood the best it could be – the more demanding it is childcare, the harder it is to take free time for my selves.  And, when I have my “child-free” moments, I feel guilty sometimes, because I could do more, and better …

For several years, I have been trying not to feel guilty – instead of thinking about what I could do better, I think about how to do things more effectively, to have time for myself and at the same time create a the base for learning and development for my children.
I thought that I would like to describe my “patents” of how to steal for me more than 15 minutes. Without feeling guilty!
I want to offer you developing games and a way to have more than 15 minutes for yourself – a call on the phone with a friend, a sneak peek into newspapers or a (hot) coffee to drink in quiet! Yes – a free time can be found, you just have to plan, organize yourself and catch it!

1. Gateways in the countryside

Holidays in the countryside for the residents of a big city sound like a holiday all-inclusive in the Maldives.  And it is not surprising – what once was at our fingertips (nature, peace) and what we did not appreciate then, now with the way too much-developed urbanism, has become something magic, almost unreal, so we miss nature, tranquility, and silence.
Living in a city offers many alternatives are certainly developing, challenging, creative, and gives much more opportunities.

But the city does not give such experiences as being in nature – fun and running, walking bare feet on the grass, freedom in its pure form, bathing in the tub, picking cherries. The contact with nature in its pure form is something we all need because is written in our DNA. If you have the option, visit your aunt or grandma in the village, go to the lake and the forest.  Get the children out to the yard and the magic will begin – nowhere will they find such stimulation and school of life as in the yard.  There are many possibilities – children create opportunities for themselves.

Read my previous article about benefits of the outdoor education.

2. Hide and seek

Take some treasures – it can be food, a toy or a task to do for your child.  Store treasures in the playground or hide them in a container, bury in a sandbox or wherever your imagination suggests you! I do not recommend doing it at home, because it may turn out that children will be searching for treasure in wardrobes, so you will have more cleaning than resting, and you have to believe that children engage in this type of play. By doing it in the neighborhoods, around your house, in the nearest garden or park – it will keep your kiddos occupy and involved them for more than 15 minutes, I assure you!

3. Time for a picnic

A picnic is something that makes the whole family happy.  My children start smiling as they hear the word PICNIC! Everybody is relaxed and calm at the picnic, children do not complain, do not argue and, surprisingly, they can sit on a blanket for more than 5 minutes (at home it is more difficult).  Dear mom, isn’t it wonderful?
You take coffee with you in a thermos, fruit, light food and light snacks that do not take up much space and will taste for everyone (after all, you will not lose any pounds).  Eat muffins (if home-made even better!), buy new sticks, crisps, and healthy crackers …but choose those with a good composition.

Dear Mum, it’s easy – take a blanket, ball, fruit, snacks and have fun!
Enjoy your coffee break!!!!

PS: Holidays last more than two months, so you can share your patents for a quarter of an hour in a comment under the article here. I would appreciate. Thanks!
