Our little baby girl, Victoria turned 5 last weekend and it was a very important date of course for us, but especially for HER.

She was waiting for that day counting down the hours…. It was all excitement when finally, that great big day come!
Five is such a big girl age, so an extra special party seemed right.
But how to throw a party without making your life difficult and crazy (or both) with weeks’ ahead preparations and big expenses but super fun, easy and joyful for the birthday girl at the same time?

We decided to keep in small and simple, decide for few but significant choices regarding place, theme and guests.

Our little Victoria, wanted her birthday day party themed all P, because P is for pink, party and princess! Her favored color is pink, so we took some funny decorations like pink stripe paper straws, pink diamond cups, hot pink paper confetti, 5 gold star candle and glitter tiara, etc.

And then, the classic …. balloons, many white and pink helium balloons, all hovering under the ceiling in her room – that was it! See her happy face!

We had a small party in our house to celebrate. We asked a few of her closest friends to join us, and splashed out on homemade fun for the event. Because what is more important from your best friends celebrating with you that special day?

Children ate ice-creams and wear party-themed face masks. They pretended to be in a VIP party, making silly faces – we took many pictures of them.
Then the crucial moment – the birthday cake! It was a big two-story cake from Pastelitos’ Cake which was just fantastic – caramel light pink and water turquoise layer above and chocolate-Italian mascarpone escalation inside. It was just delicious! And the pancakes were the real hit – all decorated with different puppy on the top. Kids loved it and ate them all.

What I liked about this party was that we really didn’t need to organize games or provide any entertainment. It was super relaxed — we played music, the kids danced, they colored, they posed for pictures, they ate and played… and that was really it.

You don’t have to throw an expensive, noisy, exaggerated birthday party with screaming animators and bunch of shouting children.

Just good old-fashioned party fun! It was such a fun day, and one that I think we will always remember.
